The final live WWE P. L.E from the Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Seven matches in total with NXT signature match the iron survivor match one for men’s and the women’.
The show gave us an electric kick off match with two young dynamic stars in Axiom vs Nathan Fraizer. There was a lot of great spots in match from false finishes high flying and submission.
The story line of this match is Fraizer finding himself falling short maybe a too nice of baby face which might require a heel turn? Fraizer teased such Trates at time as Axiom hit his finisher and gets the pin.
This match got the arena crowd and premium live event started hot!
Show begins with H.B.K (Shawn Michaels) come to middle of the ring welcome the crowd to deadline.
Bring out the best in the world C.M. Punk huge pop from Connecticut house. Punk wearing pink hitman hoodie and Shawn make reference to it which Punk replies to you guys made up? Punk reinstates heck me Hunter made up teasing he might be intrigued to sign with NXT brand.
NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP CHALLENGER DRAGON LEE vs CHAMPION DOM MYSTERIO
Opening match was for NXT North American Championship Dominic Mysterio (Champion) vs challenger Dragon Lee, Lee is Wes Lee replacement who can’t compete due to injury and placed and supported by H.O.F Ray Mysterio JR. Dominic dominated the match hitting 3 amigo Supplex taking his best to challenger Lee. Lee moon saults lucha libre stay and hit his finisher completes his NXT story and becomes the new NXT North American Champion to joy of the hall of famer Ray Mysterio jr.
This match kept the super-hot start of the kickoff show fast pacer great story telling and crowd edge of the seat anticipation who was going get their hand raise in victory. for Dominic Mysterio closing this P.LE. what a run 102 match wrestler and the year still have over 20 plus day you can make a case WWE in ring work horse M.V.P. of 2023 bravo Dirty Dom.
WOMEN’S IRON SURVIVOR CHALLENGE
Tiffany Stratton, Lash Legend, Blair Davenport, Kelani Jordan, and Fallon Henley
First two ladies Hanely and Davenport kick off the Iron survivor match. followed by Tiffany Stratton, the former NXT women champion in her 2nd iron survivor challenge was on her Tiff top!
Newcomer Kelani Jordan was impressive in the match 360 moon Sault keep the crowd energy blazing.
BREAKOUT Women star Lash Legend had the best performance in this bout using her size and power getting double pin fall and dominating all the ladies. In the end the sneaky opportunistic Davenport with go head fall and hit her bike and ran to victory as Lash tried get the tie fall you winner and Iron survivor Blair Davenport. what a heck of an Iron survivor and wrestling match bravo NXT Women!
Davenport gets on the mic cuts a promo and calls out current NXT women champ Lyra Valkyria comes out to confront her, and Cora Jade returns to blindside the champion and hold the title belt high in front of our new #1 contender!
CARMEL HAYES VS (P.LE. DEBUTING) ALEXI KING
Grude match for formal NXT champion Hayes who is link for sneak attacking Trick Williams by Alexi King. King formally (Pillman J.R) in his 1st live P.L.E. looked the part kept move by move with Hayes from the spring board moon saults and quickness pace and allow the move to be register by live hot crowd, we see Hayes picks up the win via pin but the story of the match is Al=LEXI King get on the mic and tells the world and Hayes he didn’t attack Williams but he claim too to get on this card and wrestle story and Mystery continues! Now that long term story telling!
MEN’S IRON SURVIROR CHALLENGE
Dijak, Trick Williams, Josh Briggs, Bron Breakker, and Tyler Bate
2023 Iron survivor kick off with two NXT big men Dijak and Josh Briggs the back forth with shots and hard-hitting action gave the crowd cheering joint. Tyler Bates who (MVP) lived up his nickname Big Strong Boy! 4th man in the former NXT champion Bad a$$ Bron Breaker and what a display he speared 3 wrestlers in a row even catching from top ropes pick up 3 pin falls.
The 4th and hottest wrestler in NXT enter Trick Williams with a packed house chanting Whoop that trick! Trick like a hot tag and house of fire enters and also level up Bron display of offense, doing Booker T spinning leg kick but the story of the match Willams trails in pin fall with 5 min left at zero and in the penalty box. The crowd at home and in arena wonder will there be time for Williams to whoop those Tricks and get 4 pin falls needed to be victorious?
Trick in Hail Mary fashion get the 4-pin fall needed to your iron survivor winner to the electric cheer of Total Mortgage Arena. Trick get his world title match at New Year Evil!
STEEL CAGE MATCH
ROXANNA PEREZ vs KIANA JAMES
The bad blood from both ladies lead to his cage match Roxanna with that chip on her shoulder wants destroy James, while James come out WWE H.Q in car toward the arena with a power play entrance come to cage with hot start, there back forth spill told the story of this bad blood contest slam each other face and headfirst against the steel cage. James wanted out the cage taking a huge pounding reach for steel chair to Roxanna advantage but out the crowd help arrives for James (Izzy Dame) slam cage door on Roxanna head leads to opportunity for James hit her finisher and get the pin with a chair-assisted codebreaker.
THE MAIN EVENT MEN’S NXT WORLD TITLE:CHALLENGER BARON CORBIN vs CHAMPION IIja Dragunov
Huge title defense for Dragunov with season vet in Corban. In which was set up to be big main event it lacks connecting with me viewing at home lack of sell from NXT champion and registering Corbon onslaught, champ help his ribs and side and he laps or forgotten he has injury doesn’t allow you to attack Corbon. one spot in match he tried powerbomb and failed to pick up challenger which it was a botch but play into storyline of ribs injury. Dragunov hug then hits with his finisher for win
this match was not the main event quality time had silent crowd not to attack the talent in the ring Corbon excellent worker heel working ribs and selling champion onslaught, this was chemistry issues and pace understand this had to be the main event but did not feel like a main event!
to close the show Trick Willams look to make his way to ring face to face with Melo Hayes trailing behind him but show goes to end!
WWE NXT DEALINE 2023 WAS VERY GOOD P.LE. HOT START KEEP THEIR HEAT AND EXCITEMENT TILL MAIN EVENT ALSO VIEWING THIS FROM HOME ALOT PRODUCTION BOTCHES EITHER PEACOCK OR AREANA
1)C.M PUNK HAVING THE CROWD ALL REVERD UP AND GOING BANNAS YOU HIT AND CUT THE PROMO IN MID SENTENCE TO SHOCKED H.B.K AND PUNK
2)TIMING WHEN RETURNING FROM PEACOCK AD WAS SO ODD BOTCHY
3)CAGE LOWERING HAD SREECHING SOUND NOT EXPECTED FROM A WWE SHOW USALLY DOTTING THEIR I AND CROSSING THE T”
4)WHY DIDNT WE SEE THE FACE OFF AT END TRICK WILLIAMS AND DRAGUNOV YOU STILL HAD 5 MINUTES TO 11PM AND IT PEACOCK (ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU GO OVER EVERY TUESDAY BY 15 MINUTES!)
LEFT A BITTER TASTE ON WAS AWESOME NIGHT 8.5 OUT OF 10 FOR ME ALL THE TALENT KILLED IT JUST THE MINOR DETAILS LOST THOSE 1 AND HALF STARS
